Sub-Zero complex(ity) , a hard map made by ultramex3, is the second map on his triliogy after Technical frost and is ultra's 3rd map.
Design
The maps design and BGM is inspired by Distinct Unit which is a very cool map btw,
You continue you adventure at your main base of operaitons, since the build site is gone you decide to escape. There is 2 button you have to press before entering the main complexity, after entering you are greeted with a jump that cacthes may people off guard. The room is very similar to the second portion of distinct unit, which contains the 3rd button and the escapee which is a friend of ultras. After the circle section you come the the first climbing section which has the only 2 (1) zipline(s) in the map the gameplay on the tower is severely easy and has decently comfortable platforms. Then you come to the control room. which has 3 buttons in it, and a 2 rooms. after that there is along bridge which was suppose to a box carrier from the control room to the final climbing section, speaking of that the final climbing section, its platforming is a bit funky along with the gameplay, but when you do reach to the end you will see the start of savannah hills making it not the end your journey.
However in tria.os version the 1st climbing sections ziplines are replaced with wallruns and the ladders and the 5 platforms are inverted (meaning you go up and start with 1 platfrom and you can go 2 ways which are identical)
Trivia
This map was planned to be a seperate map, After ultra gave up on a cancelled technical frost sequel which would've been called Technical Burst.
The map is a combination of a snowy research lab and a facility, and was planned to have Winter Frost as the BGM instead of Nautical Nightmare but after trying to sync the song with winter frost ultra just gave up.
This is by the community is considered the ''best'' map of ultra so far, and ultra disagrees he says its Savannah Hills.
This maps biggest change was changing the Control room (where the 6,7,8 buttons are located) to a outside research lab, And the removal of the shortcut patch which was used by many people.
The map has 1/15 chance of giving you the secret ending which as now (14/5/2021) has no connection with any of ultras other maps.
